A Meituan rider confirmed on Saturday that he had received a notice about a new feature allowing delivery workers to block customers.

近日，有网友在社交媒体发帖称美团外卖骑手能屏蔽顾客了。10月11日，一名美团骑手也证实确实收到了该消息。

According to information on the app, Meituan is piloting the feature in seven cities, including Jinjiang city, Fujian province and Shaoxing city, Zhejiang province. It enables riders to rate and block customers within 48 hours of completing an order. If riders encounter verbal abuse or threats, they can select “Do not deliver to this customer again” or block specific users through the app’s settings. After verification, each rider can block up to two customers at a time.

A Meituan customer service representative also confirmed the rollout, saying riders can block customers via the app’s order settings page. Once blocked, a rider will not receive orders from that customer for 365 days. The feature is already available in several cities and will be expanded to more locations, though no specific timeline has been announced.
