A Chinese school along the border with Russia has welcomed a batch of young Russians.

A total of 127 children from Russia began classes on Sept 1 at Heihe Primary School, a public institution in Heilongjiang province, according to an article posted by the Chinese embassy in Russia to its official WeChat account on Thursday. The fresh enrollees joined 89 Russians already studying on campus, bringing the total to 216, according to the article.

9月1日，全国中小学迎来新学期。在靠近中俄边境的黑龙江省黑河市，黑河小学迎来了大批俄罗斯学生，中文与俄语朗读声交织成独特的校园景象。

据中国驻俄罗斯大使馆微信公众号9月11日消息，本学期黑河小学新入学的俄罗斯学生达到127名，加上往年在校的89名，跨境就读的俄罗斯学生总数达到216人。这一“国际校园”的热闹场景，被视为中俄民间友好最生动的缩影。

"I used to worry that my daughter wouldn't understand Chinese, but now she comes home every day teaching us how to say 'thank you' and 'goodbye' in Chinese," a Russian mother from just across the border in Blagoveshchensk was quoted as saying. Her daughter's daily cross-border commute takes about 20 minutes via a bridge.

黑河小学专门设计“中俄伙伴计划”，让两国孩子从入学第一天起就结伴学习。俄罗斯家长叶卡捷琳娜表示：“以前担心孩子听不懂中文，现在每天回家都要教我们说‘谢谢’‘再见’。”她的女儿卡佳每天通过浮桥从俄罗斯布拉戈维申斯克市通勤到黑河，仅需20分钟。

Russian children at the school were shown wearing the same uniforms as their Chinese classmates while participating in morning exercises and following the standard curriculum – all taught in Chinese.

据香港《南华早报》报道，在网友拍摄的视频中可以看到，新学期伊始，黑河小学校门口迎来了大量俄罗斯学生。他们与中国学生一样，身穿蓝白色校服，背着书包步入校园。这些学生以留学生身份来到黑河，学校统一实行汉语教学。
